FLOODS IN PAKISTAN YEAR 2010

The 2010 Pakistan floods began in July 2010 after heavy monsoon rains affected the Khyber PakhtunkhwaSindh, lower Punjab as well as parts ofBalochistan. An estimated 2,000 people have died so far with close to a million homes badly damaged or destroyed. The United Nations estimates over 20 million people are suffering and homeless with over 160,000 square kilometers affected as a result of the flooding, exceeding the combined total of the affected of 2004 Indian Ocean tsunamithe 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake. However, the death toll in each of those three disasters was much higher than the number of people killed so far in the floods. Around a fifth of Pakistan's total land area was impacted by the flooding.
UN Secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon has asked for an initial $460 million for emergency relief, noting that the flood was the worst disaster he had ever seen. 50% of the relief funds requested has been received as of 15 August 2010. The U.N. is concerned that aid is not arriving fast enough, while the World Health Organization reported that ten million people were forced to drink unsafe water. The Pakistani economy has been harmed by extensive damage to infrastructure and crops.Structural damages are estimated to exceed 4 billion USD, and wheat crop damages are estimated to be over 500 million USD.. Total economic impacts are estimated at about 43 billion USD according to official estimates...........
This is as a news come to our hands and to the world around us.. think of a second what if we have been a victim of all this.. so, as we are not.. we are given a chance to help those survive--- a help that feeds them, that covers them and the most imp of a feeling that make them feel that they are not ALONE...
talking about HELP i don`t think that we bother to wait for someone else to come out and stand for them...
power starts when we start working as a single entity and then forms a unit..
i am sad and my heart weeps whenever i think of some one watching water all around and miserable everyone with no food no shelter no clothes.. how can a human being just live like this...
i took some steps and these are some ideas to work upon... remember your HELP means a lot to the world of grieve filled brother and sisters!!

-> check your wardrobe... even 1 dress worths..
->see your overloaded shoe rack.. a single pair matters
-> save 5 or 10 rupees each day and u will have a marvelous EID gift for them
-> miss your single hang out and DONATE it worths
-> on a shopping tours ask people around u.. u r donating.. have thy??
-> skip a snack donate the money..
do feel the way theyare suffering and then u will have a meaning to help..
ALLAH help u n those with the true spirits of life!!
jazakALLAH !!
